David '81 and Yvonne Daulton '81 Carmicheal

The Carmicheal Endowed Scholarship was established in 2013 by David ’81 and Yvonne Daulton ’81 Carmicheal for students majoring in history.

Impact

The Carmicheals graduated from Asbury in 1981 with degrees in History. As they discovered, their education prepared them very well for more intensive study In graduate school and for later professional challenges. Yvonne is a librarian who has held many administrative positions during her career, and David has been the State Archivist of Georgia and (now) Pennsylvania. They endowed this scholarship because David, in particular, received a series of scholarships during his years at Asbury that, though small, were significant in their impact. Often they bridged the gap and made it possible for him to continue his studies for another term. They have always been grateful to the people who donated funds to make that possible and hope that recipients of these scholarships will find them equally significant and encouraging.
